A new car

Well we broke down and finally bought a new car. It is a Volkswagen TDI. Thought we got a pretty good deal on it considering how much in demand they are. Hopefully it turns out to be a good car. Can check it out at http://www.vw.com/jettasportwagen/en/us/ Ours is silver with a big sunroof.

A couple of things...

First, I can't tell you how happy I am that Florida lost to Alabama in the SEC title game. I know I am a little late on this but it hasn't had any affect on the joy I feel. I know I shouldn't feel good about anothers failure but Tebow's post game interview was great. I mean he was on the verge of crying. Get a grip dude. Your team was overated all year. Now I am looking forward to him traveling into football obscurity in the NFL,

Second, it is Christmas weekend. Lots of parties to attend. For the first time ever I will be attending a work xmas party. Don't get me wrong I like some of the people I work with but I am not sure I will be able to put up with the BS. By bs I mean all the better then the joneses stuff or all the subtle brown nosing that will be going on. I should enter this with an open mind but I can't. It doesn't help things that I would rather be spending more time at a different gathering on the same day. Don't get me wrong I will be attending the other gathering but would rather be attending it for longer periods of time. I amthinking about trying to find a cheezy xmas sweater for the second gathering. Thrift shops here I come...I am sure they will not be picked over.

Sorry for those of you who are Vikings fans but the rest of us were waiting for that game all year long. Do you know the Vikings have only beaten one team with a winning record. The Packers, and lets be honest most of the time division games don't matter with record. Specially one that has as much angst as that game. Don't get me wrong I think the Vikings are a good team. I just think the hype around Favre is a little much. As a life long bears fan I have no love loss for Favre. He does have a pretty good team around him and the team went 10-6 without him last year and has only gotten better offensively since then. It is only one game but I learned a few things about the Vikings...If you can get pressure on Favre, and it isn't easy, he will revert to the interception king. It was unbelivable that he got thrown to the ground on one play and the very next play threw an interception. He was also falling down on sacks when people barely touched him. Adrian Peterson carried the ball only 18 times in the game? I have been saying this all year long, give Peterson the ball more. 18 times? I don't dislike Childress but come on dude. You have one of the best running backs in the league. The week before Chirs Johnson ran for like 100000 yards on Arizona. GIVE HIM THE BALL! Should be interesting to see how Vikings do against Cincy. I feel Cincy is a similar team as Arizona. My guess is being that Vikings are at home and probably a little angry about last week so they should win. If they don't come out with some intensity though look out.

There is something ultimately peaceful about biking in the cold like this. It just doesn't seem to be any outside noise. Not sure if the cold weather means less people are out and about so there is less noise. Or if the cold air makes sound travel differently. Or if I have so many head layers on I can't hear. In any case all I could hear most of the way to work today was the crunch of my tires on the snow and my breathing. Very peaceful.

Bizzaroland

I have now entered bizzaroland. I land of pure strangeness. I had a very strange conversation last night. A little background before I begin. I usually leave work around 430ish. It isn't really dark yet but it is on its way. I usually get home around 530ish and by then it is dark. I typically turn my lights on if cars have their lights on. When I get on the bike path I usually turn my light down to half power or lower to conserve battery. Ok now on to bizzaroland.

So I am biking home last night and I have just turned on to the bike path and gone down about a block or two when a pedestrian walking the other way kind of waves his hand and says'

"Excuse me. Could you stop please."

I figure that was pretty polite maybe they need directions or something so I stop and ask, "Whats up?"

The start of the rabbit hole is, "What is with the light?"

I start to explain that it is so the cars can see me when I arrive at cross streets and when I actually ride on streets but I get interrupted with, "It isn't even that dark out and the light really bothers me. All the blinking and what not. You should really think about turning it off." While talking he makes a strange jesture with his head as if the lights were making him dizzy.

Mind you I don't have a blinking front light. At this point my mouth drops open and I have that classic what the hell is going on face. I am waiting for the joke or the punch line. When there is no response or anything I realized he is actually serious. I reply using about as much sarcasm as I can muster at this moment with, "Yea well we should also ask all the cars to turn off their pesky lights."

He looks as if he is seriously contenplating it. I used that moment to get back on my bike and escape

The Bitcher

I have never heard someone bitch as much as the guy who sits right across from me. We are at work and he bitches about getting emails. I mean WTF. It is work you get emails. He was also bitching about the weather. Again WTF its end of November and its close to 50 out. I can't wait to hear him bitch when the weather is actually bad. I think this guy should enter a contest on bitching. I guarntee he would do well. Oh before I could finish writting this he is bitching more about. Sweet.

Bubble boy

I have made a concious decision to not watch or read any news. I find it to be pretty nice. I don't get riled up everytime I see someone debating Michelle Bachman's ideas like they actually have merit and are not just ravings of a sly lunatic. I find myself living happily in my little bubble. I al don't have to feel guilty about not being more involved.

On a completely different subject. As I was biking home last night at about 6 pm I had one of those scared shitless moments. As any one knows around these parts it is pretty dark at 6pm. I have a nice light but it can only do so much. In any case, I am not emberassed to say that I had a death grip on my handlebars, a clenched jaw, and all breathing had stopped. This occured because I just missed hitting a small dear by about 2". I actually am not really sure how I didn't hit it. Hard to tell when your eyes are closed. Ok my eyes were not closed but I was frozen in the paralysis of fear. In any case I had a good laugh about it after it happened.

She livin under neath my matteress. She showed me jesus at the bottom of a Colt 45". not that i mind having either song running through my head but i find myself whistling either one as I am biking to or from work or doing whatever.

Check it out here for more info. Here

Pathfinder vs Tree

Over the weekend we were at Koogs's cabin. It has been raining a lot and anyone who has been there knows its not the nicest road to ride in on. We were driving back from town about 7 pm on Saturday night. I want to go down on record as saying Koogs was driving and not me. Of course it doesn't mean the outcome would have been any different but.....it makes me feel better. Again as anyone who has driven in or out of that road knows trees fall and need to be removed from the road. Usually it just means chainsawing a section of the tree out wide enough to open the road up and leaving the rest of the tree there. In this case there was a old sawed tree on the side of the road. This one happened to be laying on its branches so it wasn't on the ground but about 4-5 feet in the air. As Koogs came around the corner she slid a little and went off the side of the road right into this reminants of a tree. The trunk of the tree caught the passenger side roof(yes the side I was on) and then slid down a little and came through the window. The limb was solid and really didn't move that much. As we were not going that fast there really was no danger of being impaled movie like on the tree limb. I did comment that I thought Koogs was trying to kill me. I had to remind her that I don't have much life insurance yet so she might want to wait to do that. In any case there was glass everywhere from the shattered window. We cleaned the car of glass and duct taped cradboard on both sides of the hole in the windw and drove home. Kind of felt a little white trashish but what can you do. In any case we are fine well except the truck which is currently in the shop getting repaired. Tree 1 Pathfinder 0. Of course the tree was already dead so what kind of damage could the Pathfinder do? Pathfinder needed +1 to Treant damage.

Too Cool Fixie

Anyone who bikes knows there are "groups" of bikers. You have your spandexed out road riders, you have your jean wearing wallet chain toating single speed and fixed gear guys, you have the adrenaline junkie mountain bikers, then you have the rest. Ok there are a lot more divisions of biking but for this conversation that will suffice. I will try not to generalize but it makes it so much easier to be angry at people when you can catagorize them. All this brings me to my ride home yesterday. I tend to bike home fast. Part of it is just to get home quick to releave Author#1 from child duty. Part of it is just trying to bike fast to get more excercise. Yesterday I pull up to a stop light on Portalnd and Lake. For those of you who don't know Portland is a 3 lane one way road out of the city that has a nice bike lane on it. Also I have learned that if I bike around 21-23 mph I can catch all but one light. As I pull up to the stop light at Lake it is red so I stop to wait for it to turn greem(This is the first light I hit off the bike path so usually I have to wait for it.) As I wait for it to turn green another biker kind of just pulls in front of me. Of course it is a fixie dude with his trendy backpack, torn jeans, and wallet chain. He does his little balancing act until the light turns green and we start to go. I almost immediately want to go around him because I want to make sure I go fast enough to catch all the lights. He then proceeds to ride in the middle of the bike lane so I can't pass him on the inside because of parked cars and can't pass him on the otherside because of moving cars. So I wait to a point where there are no parked cars figuring he will move over and I can pass him. The problem is he doesn't. So I wait for the next break in parked cars and pass him on the inside. This apparently disrupted his senses. There is this strange thing where bikers hate to be passed. I can't tell you how many people speed up when I pass them. In any case as I pass him he starts to yell something to the affect of "HI! Bye!". He must of yelled it about 5 times looking for some reaction from me. I so badly wanted to stop and let him know that this wouldn't have been an issue if one he didn't pull in front of me at the light at Lake St. Or two had the decency to move over when I was behind him. Instead I just sped by him ignoring him hoping I could go fast enough to make the lights.

Flat Tire

I got my first flat tire on my road bike this morning. Not ao good morning to get it but I got'r done and made it to work in under an hour.

On a completely different subject...I am not one to really dislike people but a have a corworker that I just really can't stand. One he is horribly lazy, everything he has ever done is the hardest thing ever done, and he talks to himslef all day long. For me these three things are the perfect storm of disliking. I will give you a perfect example of one in the list of many reasons I can't take this guy. I am sitting here working away. His cell phone rings...no big deal. He answers it and says hello. Now whetjer he says hello too quickly or the other person has an issue on there end(which I doubt because this happens a lot)I don't know but they never seem to hear him and must reply Hello. His reply "That is what I said.". I am not joking that I hear that about 2-3 times a day. Everytime I hear it I think what an asshole.

On another completely different subject that Glen Beck book is a joke. He goes on and on talking about the constitution and how we have strayed from it etc etc. He then talkes about these questions you must ask yourself and answer honestly. I don't have them in front of me but one of them revolved around everyone must speak english. I am not costitution scholar but I am pretty sure that isn't in any of the amendments to the constitution. So why is he even talking about it. There were a few other ones that I will try to post. I have only ever put 1 book down before finishing reading it. This one might make it to number 2. It is a struggle to read.

Snow Slog

First day of riding the bike to work in the snow. Was really nice out and was enjoying the ride until my feet got really wet and my glasses started fogging over. Never got cold but it just isn't pleasent to ride in soaking wet shoes.

Wanted to go mountain bike riding this weekend. Didn't happen. Now I am a little worried we are done for the year. Just when I felt like I was getting back into it..

Baseball

Those who know me know I am not a huge baseball fan. I enjoy the occasional game. I just think there are way to many games and lets be honest half the people on a baseball team have a specific skill and are not really atheletes. I liken it to bowling or golf. They have a sweet skill but it doesn't mean they are athletically inclined. Anyway I have been in many an argument about what is the definition of an athelete and I am not here to argue that. I am here to say that the game between the Twins and the Tigers the other night was one awesome baseball game. The pressure of every at bat was awesome. The lead changes. The strategy. The clutch hits the clutch defense. If baseball could bottle that recipie and repeat it would blow every other sport out of the water. That game was a freaking classic. I hate when people say that but it was. MaYbe they should have 2 wild cards teams from each division play a 1 game playoff to see who will advance. Maybe they should play a lot less games so every game means more(This is what I like about the 16 game NFL season) I am no expert but man was that a fun game to watch...even if I watched in on the internet...stupid cable TV.

Who I want to win the world series from most to least....this has no basis in who will probably win. And yes it is who I want because after all it is all about me.

Twins...I am not a homer trust me. I am not even a serious twins fan but everone loves an underdog...and hates the Yankees
St. Louis...Hey there from the midwest and they have a chance to win
Colorado...I lived there..the stadium is cool and they are the comeback kids..never count them out.
Angels...Never get any respect with Dodgers in town.
Philly... Better then the rest
Dodger, Yankees, Boston....I put them all on an even playfield of teams I don't want to win

I Hate People

It was a pleasant 42 degrees and pouring rain when I left for work this morning. As I am biking to work a make a stop at a stop sign to wait for some cars to pass before I take a left turn. When I stop I would say I was in the middle of "my" lane. I had to wait a minute for the cross traffic to clear. As I am waiting a car pulls up next to me pretty much half in "our" lane and half in the oncoming lane. When the traffic clears I start to make my left turn and the car starts to go straight across the intersection. Right from the start my sixth sense or my bicycle sense started tingling so I didn't make a hard left turn but went straight a little knowing this bozo was going to do something stupid. As he went by I shinned my nice new helmet light right in his face. The driver then proceeds to give me the hands up in the air like somehow this was my fault. Cases like that I wish I could interrupt peoples radios and give them a lecture on the rules of the road. Or maybe just call them an idiot. I know I don't always make the best choices when I bike but I am not driving a 2000 lb machine either.

Was a fun game to watch last night. Was close to the end even though it seemed like Minnesota should have been winning 40-10.

Vikings vs Packers

Oh yea this is what I was thinking about....Best shirt I have seen. On the front it says one of you will betray us...on the back it has the number 4 with the name Judas. Classic.

Cat Fight

A conversation overheard as I was filling up my water bottle

Woman #1 as passing Woman #2's office, "Hey you have a package sitting out here."
Woman #2 in what I would say a bitchy voice, "Well it can stay there until I get up and get it."
Women #1, "Allright I was just letting you know."
Woment #2 "Thank You."

I don't know the history there but there must be one.

Oh also I remember there is some type of football game tonight. I can't remember the teams or if it will be worth watching.

A New Addition

Kari has an alien in her as seen below. I am figuring when it is born we will host our own documentary like Jon and Kate pluse Eight but it will be something like Kari and Mike plus distric 9. I just hope it brings some of those cool weapons with it.

Nightrider.....

And I don't mean the suave 70 TV sereis. I mean the crazy insane driver that Mad Max deals with in Mad Max.

I went mountain bike riding at night on Wednesday. Did it with a head lamp. It was really freaking fun. Kind of spooky and couldn't really go at break neck speeds or anything but still very cool. Well that was until I clipped a tree with my handlebar and screwed up my rear tire. Luckily I was able to ride out. And I know you are thinking it but the hitting of my haddlebar on the tree had nothing to do with riding at night. Just one of those things. I can and will do it again.

I then woke up Thursday morning to the joy of riding to work in the pouring rain. Wasn't all that pleasant but not seeing a single sole on my ride in made it like I was doing something illegal. Maybe this is kind of dorky but I get a little bit of joy doing things that other people think is a little nuts. For example, mountain biking at night or biking in the pouring rain.

ALl I can think is the Nightrider line.

I am the Nightrider. I'm a fuel injected suicide machine. I am the rocker, I am the roller, I am the out-of-controller!

Just a Brush

On Wednesday biking home I got hit for the... I actually have lost count. In all but 1 case the car/truck/van hasn't even stopped. The one case where the person stopped, was when I actually got knocked off my bike. Maybe I should act more like a true soccer player and fall down grabbing my leg like it has been tore off. Ok I wouldn't do tha The I have chalked it up to people not stopping because they haven't known they even hit me. I am not sure that is a good thing being that someone driving a car doesn't even know they hit someone but that is what I have guessed is the reason. Though Wednesday night was different. I was going pretty fast in order to get home by 6 so Kari could out to dinner with a friend. I was probably going about 23-24 mph when a white van decided they no longer wanted to wait behind the person turning left and moved right into the lane I was in. I had one of those oh shit moments where I locked up both brakes and started to slide and kind of steer further towards the curb. As I couldn't turn or stop quick enough the van hit my leg closest to it. To be honest I have probably been hit harder by Isaac then the van but that isn;t the point. I of coursed yelled at them but that didn't stop them. After it happened I of course in my adrenaline fueled anger tried to catch the van. In the city this is usually pretty easy because the spped limit is low and there are lots of stop lights for me to catch up to. In this case I started to catch up to the van and they actually sped up. I am sure knowing what they did. At one point going down Chicago Ave I was going close to 35 mph and the van was pulling away from me. I got exhausted before I could catch them at that speed. It is all probably for the better but...it makes me angry that they knew they hit me and took off anyway. What I really need to learn to start taking liscense plate numbers down and just call the cops. In the moment though I can never remember that.

Stairway to heavan

While I am not too particular about punction or spelling when it comes to writting as my feeling is if you get your thought across who cares if it is spelled or punctuated correctly. As the point of writting is to get your thought across. I must say the blog editor on this thing drives me nuts. Though it is a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor it will absolutely not show the two spaces I put after a period. I am too cheap to actually pay for a blogger so here I sit.

I had this thought as I was walking through the doors at work today. Another person walked in right behind me proceeded to push the button for the elevator. Now mind you there are only 3 floors in this building and this person is rather young and has no known medical conditions that stop him from walking up 2 flights of staris. I thought probably rather harshly that if at his age if he can't walk up 2 flights of stairs its time to start digging your grave. Like I said maybe a little harsh and "elitest" but its what came into my head. To make myself feel better after this I tried to clarify my thought by adding all these stipulations to it. Like if you are retired it is ok to take the elevator or if you have a medical conditioin etc etc.

Big Cup

Wow what a nice weekend. Got some water skiing in and was able to drop a ski and ride for a while. I did it goofy which is what I am but it didn't seem normal. Maybe being on one ski just isn't normal.

Golfing was fun but we didn't break any records. -5 under only.

Vikings fans at work talking like it is all but a forgon conculsion that the Vikings are the best team ever. I keep trying to remind them that they have played Clevland and Detriot(not exactly power houses) and in both cases started the game slow. If they do that against a good time they might have some issues coming back. Though as much as I hat to admit it the Vikings are good. Interesting to see how Favre does in 8 weeks after talking a few more hits. Oh yea and the Bears got a lucky win so that works.

I seem to have a lot of these moments but do you ever have a moment when you think...."Humanity as a whole is doomed." I am sitting at work about 5 minutes ago and this muscle head who happens to be a football coach for 10 year olds. Is talking about someone on his team getting imjured and feeling proud that he told the 10 year old to "Stop complaining about being hurt get in the game and go hit somebody" 10 years old? This is what is wrong with sports. I hope Isaac likes theater or something non sport releated.

Lastly, in an attempt to understand "the other side". I am reading a book by Glen Beck. It is really really hard to continue reading it but I feel I must complete it in order to put together complete thoughts on exactly how crazy the Birthers and like are. I will start by dissecting the first thought in his book which is about saying we all voted for "change" in washington and what the politicians think we voted for was a system of handouts and entitlements. First, I don't know about the rest of you but I voted for change away from the party in power because we couldn't take another 8 years Bush like policies and that is exactly what MCain was proposing. I also happen to think that some type of affordable health care for everyone is a right. Not sure if that is a government run system or not but I think it is a right. What we have isn't working. So sorry Glen(who by the way no way is in the we that voted for Obama) I was voting for a completly different type of change that you say I was voting for. Strike 1 on your great theories.

Cutler?

Lets say he didn't have the greates game. I was hoever fairly happy with the way the defense played. I don't think the loss of Urlacher for the season is going to be as big a deal as people are making it out to be. But what do I know. In any case the Bears won't win to many games with 4 Int. If Cutler has another game like that he will be chased from Chicago. Really it is that simple. On a positive note the Bears offense couldnt have played much worse and they did have a chance to win. Oh one last think run to set up the pass don't pass to set up the run.

Steve's Last Night in Town

For a while when I have talked about the cabin I have felt like the song above. I kept talking about it going away and it never would happen. Well that day is done. I got a call from my dad on Friday and the cabin is officially going on the market today. Makes me sick to my stomach to think about it. Money makes people do some pretty crazy things. A piece of land that has been in the family forever will be gone for no reason other then people want the money from it. Dad said he couldn't do anything to save it because it is just too much money for him to buy etc. While I know my dad is trying I just don't believe he really did everything. He didnt talk to his siblings years ago about a way to keep it or by them out. He didn't buy my Uncle Jim out of the trust when my uncle Jim begged hiim to do it. Now these people will become multi millionaires. Drives me nuts. I could go on but honestly it just makes me sick. Hopefully it will be around one more summer but who knows. One positive thing is I will probably never see any of these relatives again and to be honest I will be better for it.

District 9

All in all I liked the movie. My expectations were way to high but even with that I still liked it. It had pretty cool special effects like the "air" pulse gun and some totally quality kills. Don't read any father if you don't want it ruined. A few things that bothered me. First is that none of the aliens could use there own guns. Was it because they were all worker aleins and not able to or smart enough to use guns. Who knows. Also I didn't like how the movie came in and out of documentary mode. Lastly I think there was too much content there for a short movie. I started to think how/why did the aliens come to earth? Was it to spread black fluid and turn everyone into aliens themselves? Were they coming in peace? Were they only here to get fix/get fuel for the ship? How did there ship get stuck and without any power how was it floating? Wouldn't the military be trying to take apart the ship as much as they were trying to acquire and steal gun technology? I mean come on 20 years floating above Johanaburg? What situation made all the worker aleins live but none of the smart ones(well except one possibly?) Will the alien come back in 3 years? Was that a lame set up for a sequel. I think it be cool to have a prequel that bleeds into a sequel. In any case I had a lot of questions but the movie was still entertaining. I give it a 8 out of 10 stars

Plumbing

Plumbing is hard jammed under a cabin. A person who will not be named did the original plumbing like a 2 uear old and didn't put access to everything in the cabin. What this means is water pipes run into unaccesible walls. Makes sense right because you would never want to get to plumbing runs again would you? Anyway I spent three days under the cabin and succeded in redoing the plumbing and having no leaks at about 10 psi. Next up is the pump and running that to the cabin. Hopefully 50 psi will not bring any leaks.

I could go on about Favre but instead I will leave it up to this....

Someone is not happy.

Football...NFL style

I am way more of a football fan then baseball. The only thing that maybe comes close for me is college basketball. College football...lame. Maybe because I went to a small school whitout a football team that I just don't get college football. There are so many flaws...one being no playoffs. Two the stupid ranking system. Three teams like Ohio state playing some crappy team just to "warm" up. I just am not that much of a fan. NFL is the real deal. Plus this weekend I am going to Chicago for a little fantasy draft. I am sure I will be about 500 as I am every year but I will have fun doing it.

I have got to get a Favre post in here.

Vomit Commit

So we had the opportunity to experience the vomit commit for ourselves. The trip from Milwaukee to Muskegon on Wednesday was pretty uneventful. The boat was pretty empty and there was much in the terms of waves. On Sunday for the return trip there were 5 foot waves and the boat was rocking back and forth pretty good. There were a lot of sick looking people(none were us) and the occasional random puke by younglings in the isle. Isaac wanted to get up and run around. As you can imagine I had to make him hold my hands the entire time as he kept taking diggers from the boat rocking. To add to the excitement there was a pretty good thunder and lightning storm in the middle of the lake. It was so windy that the tops of all the waves were getting blown off. I had never seen anything like it. It was like looking at a lake and every single wave has a whitecap on it at once. Like something out of a book. Was cool. All and all the vacation in Michigan was awesome. So relaxing. That place is a mind relaxing gold mine. It is also perfect for kids because there is so much room to run and play and there is always the creek to play in if the waves are to big in the big lake. I will miss it a lot if/when it goes.

Bike Race

Ok so a week and a half ago I did my first ever bike race. I have done a triathalon and some "rides" but never a race. This was even a mountain bike race. Well it was really fun but I learned a few things. First, I am not a good mountain biker. I have lost the ability to block all fear from my mind. I know what I should be doing but I can't get my body to comply. As I come down a deep decent I will say to myself don't hit my brakes, don't hit my brakes. Then what do I do? Hit my brakes. Because I hit my brakes so much I have to work twice as hard and I am just not in good enough shape to make that happen. That is the second thing I learned that I am not in as good of shape as I want to be. In any case I wasn't able to finish because I took a digger and completely bent my front wheel so bad it was game over. I had a pretty bad start but I would have definetly finished in the bottom half of the race. In any case it was fun and I plan on doing it more next year.

Vacation

After a weekend at Kari's cabin...in which yes I caught one large mouth around 20 inches and a crappie, hold on to your hat, that was 16.25 inches. I couldn't freaking believe it. Was AWESOME! Caught it on a fake gulp minnow. I am sold on those things. Stay on your hook forever and when you are done with it throw it back in the gulp juice and it recharges. Oh and it is biodegradable. Win Win..

Now we are off to a ferry ride and the cabin. I keep thinking of the song from Ben Folds Five about Steve's Last Night in Town. I feel like every time I go to the cabin it could be the last but somehow it just keeps holding on. So here is to the possibility of the last night at the cabin...

Gators' Tebow

I am tired of athelets thinking that somehow god really cares if they win a football game or not. The completing a pass and pointing to the sky like it was God shinning down and them that made them complete a pass. It is just silly self righteousness. I am sure I spelled that wrong. I can't decide if I don't like Tebow because he is on the Gators or I just don't plan like he because of shoving is religion and virginity in my face.

Lance is down...but not out

I think its funny that the tour is no longer the tour..it is all about Lance Armstrong. In some strange way I wanted to see Lance fail miserably. He hasn't done that but he probably is not going to win given Contrador's lead. It would be pretty amazing if that team finished with 3 riders in the top five. If the Tour directors were smart they would ask Lance to keep doing the tour until he dies. It is the only thing saving the sport at this point. That is until half the field is found to have been doping two weeks after the tour ends...
