No. It is not a
surprise that I actually posted something. Author#1 pulled off a
surprise birthday party for me at the Cabin in Michigan. I was really
surprised. It was really fun to have everyone there. Especially the people who came all the way from Minneapolis for a weekend. Pretty cool. I didn't want to leave and wished everyone could have stayed longer. Also wished the weather was a bit warmer but in any case it was still fun.
The waves were so big in the lake that the Ferry was cancelled and Author#1 and myself were forced to drive all the way around through Chicago and home. It was a long drive. We got a late start because we thought we were taking the Ferry. Actually we left at what I feel was the worst time for traffic going into
Chicago. I also explained to Author#1 my conspiracy theory on the Indiana toll road. So I have been driving back and forth from the cabin to Chicago since before I can remember. One thing I do remember is that there is always....and I mean always construction on the stretch of 94 in Indiana. It is only a 48 mile stretch of road but yet it always seems to have
construction. My theory is that Indiana purposefully puts construction on this road to force people to the toll road therefore making more money(Though I believe now the Indiana toll road is private...
shhh don't tell anyone it ruins my theory). It always seems as if the construction starts right around a
convenient exit to get to the toll road and ends where the toll road ties back into 94. It also
doesn't make sense that in the 40 years I have been driving the road that it
doesn't seem like it has been widened once yet there is horrible traffic there year after year. With this being said I went against all principles and decided to go onto the toll road. Which
surprise surprise moved much faster then 94. One thing I notices was I-Zoom lanes in the toll plaza's. There was nothing
zoomey about these I-Zoom lanes. Every other speedy toll pass I have seen means you don't have to stop to go through the toll plaza. You either can drive through slowly...
ie 15 mph or quickly 70 mph. In this case you had to stop in the I-zoom lanes like any other lane. In any case I just found it funny. With all the bad traffic...and history of bad traffic...and the fact I was staring a very long day of driving in the face I started to think what does Indiana have that is special? Author#1
reminded me she had special relatives in the state. To which I replied besides that what is there a bunch of Amish? Anyway we got home at 215
ish am. Long day...
I'm tired.
